A tormented people
If it be true that the african people, I so mean the entire black people is sick from a long lasting trauma, the signs of that sickness are, I think, clearly recognizable.
The submissive attitude towards the other people, that kind of superstitious fear we feel when dealing or confronted with the other people, the tendency to embrace causes that be alien to their own interests are indicators of something gone wrong somewhere, the mark of a dominated people, a defeated people, deported from its own cultural sphere, a wandering people. The official languages of african countries most of the time are foreign languages, the languages of them who enslaved Africa. Names as vehicles of one’s identity are either totally erased and replaced by the enslavers’ names in the case of the deported Africans, or associated with the enslavers’ name the way we can witness it in the motherland. The reverse is never true though. Europeans and Arabs never give African names to their offspring because neither Europeans nor Arabs are culturally and politically dominated people. This anomaly, far from being considered so, belongs in the natural order of things by a majority of children of Africa just like breathing, walking, standing, and this again shows there is a problem somewhere for sure.
Among the very African people, the relationships between them done been taken away long time ago and them done escaped when they happen to meet (Europe, Caribbean, America) clearly displays a part of ourselves is like dead. Them two parts of the same whole sometimes meet each other, speak with each other, cross each other, but never recognize each other: why? Cause them two pieces of Africa have done become amnesic today. Their memory been stolen to them in a way that they remember who they are no more. The echo that oughta’ve reflected their common reality is confused. The crystal mirror that oughta’ve reflected their common image has turned completely opaque from all the dust on it. They done lost the resonance of themselves. The consequence of this being that them two parts of the same whole no more have the normal reactions and attitudes that history, genetics and family links expect for them to have towards each other. That very echo they must retrieve. That very mirror they must vacuum clean for it to reflect their common image again. That very resonance must be back.
