Education, Research

We do not have enough universities in our country today. Furthermore, all the faculties, especially the scientific ones must be able to guarantee the students a complete, solid training, both theoretical and practical. For that reason, laboratories must be equipped with proper scientific material so that our researchers can experiment and test the solutions that will find concrete applications in agriculture, civil engineering, medicine, architecture, nutrition, cosmetics, environment, history, culture in The National Triangle. We will have to put an emphasis on research in all possible domains: music, art and culture and tradition, science, history. Research is a key sector for nations that ambition to count in the world scene. Research is that permanent movement that makes it possible for us to surpass or transcend ourselves.

If the cameroonian government fails to fulfill its duty that is to stimulate research in our country, we shall be facing with more consequences each time the brain drain phenomenon and our researchers will help develop the northern countries. If there are 17 millions of us Cameroonians today, I say there are 17 million brains in Cameroon as well. This that I am saying for Cameroon goes for any other african country. Politician leaders must give the Africans the tools and means for the African Renaissance. Is it not true that a side view of the motherland shows a head, a skull, the brain of the planet, the leadership, the creative genius that gives civilization to the world? So, let us not offend this Africa.

A great nation is also an educated nation. The highest possible rate of alphabetisation and instruction should be one of cameroon's future challenges. There must be a real political vision, a political project of a strong nation through high quality education. We must invent a new educative system, renovated and reoriented school or academical programmes with the mission to give birth to a new generation of citizens devoted, trained, mentally and culturally equipped  to serve the nation and the african cause. The new educative programmes should focus on african knowledge, meaning cameroonian and african history and historical figures, slavery and its effects, past and present african achievements in medicine, mathematics, geometry, philosophy, architecture, chemistry, physics, technology.

Our strategy to create a highly educated nation could be based on a tri-polar basis: school, radio and television. The knowledge given in school is echoed in radio and television broadcasted programmes so that the knowledge and information circulate all over the nation. The same information given in that circular way through the three aforementioned poles will help insure and harmonize the knowledge all over the nation and thus create a literally well educated, schooled nation.

For us to achieve this, our country will have to establish - if it is not the case yet – a cultural cooperation with the north, south and central american african diaspora, with the caribbean african diaspora, with the european african diaspora in that sense. Since an important part of the african diaspora is spanish-speaking or portuguese-speaking, the language obstacle can be resolved in an english translation that the african american or even the african british diaspora would provide if asked to. Our brothers and sisters are more than willing to get involved in common projects with their brothers and sisters in the motherland. They have their eyes on us, on you and me, hoping, waiting, watching, wanting for something to happen… at last.
