"O Cameroon " means a « high cameroon » too. If our roots plunge deep into our past and our feet stand on the ground of the present, our eyes must definitely turn to the future: forwards and to the future. If yesterday is our teacher and if today is our mirror, let tomorrow be our destination. If yesterday is our mother or father, and if today is our sister or brother, let tomorrow be our beautiful child. Yes, yesterday was. Yes today is, and yes tomorrow will be and we must make tomorrow be better than yesterday and today. However, tomorrow already starts today. Today is the birthplace of tomorrow. Let us then be builders of the future now, builders of a new cameroon now. Let us have a higher vision of Cameroon. Let excellence be our credo. We have the potential, we have the inventiveness, we have the creativity here in Cameroon. Those precious qualities however will hardly be profitable to us if there is no organization, planning or coordination work to optimize them.
In a state, this is the government mission to fulfill. It is the Cameroonian government's responsibility to create a favorable environment for good relationships between all the children of the National Pyramid. Our government must work so that inside the three angles the citizens feel truly heard and not utterly ignored. The citizens must feel they are given consideration, esteem and respect instead of disrespect or contempt. Every citizen must know they are important inside the nation. No contribution should ever be ignored or considered second-class.
A fact of no small importance should be mentioned here. Cameroon is part of the central Africa area. However, being located in the west coast of Africa in the gulf of Guinea, Cameroon is de facto a west african country and is sometimes presented that way. For that reason, the CEMAC member that Cameroon is should now consider knocking at the door of the Economic Community Of West African States (ECOWAS) and so join Nigeria, Niger, Ghana, Mali, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Benin, Togo, Cape Verde, Ivory-Coast, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Gambia who also are our geographical family. Thus, we will really make a step further towards the united africa we wish to build. In fact, Cameroon not being a member of the ecowas can even be qualified an anomaly.
Finally, my conviction is that the troubled times Cameroon is going through are no fatality. As for any problem, solutions exist in the case of Cameroon. Full with the lessons of the past and dealing with the present, let us work together to build our future. Let each and everyone of us become the seed that is destined to be the magnificent Cameroon tree with fruits abundant and delicious. In the future, Cameroon must be a label of high-quality. As Africans we must expand our horizons and start considering our role in world history.
