Maafa, Yovoda (slavery)

      « Maafa » is a Kiswahili word that comes from Swahili people (eastern Africa, central Africa). That word can be translated as « great disaster », « calamity ». « Maafa » as become an idiom to name them centuries of slavery the african people been enduring.

« Yovoda » in Eve language (Benin, Togo), means « the crime of the white man» or the European transatlantic slavery against the Africans. This word too encounters a growing popularity in the black community.

Maafa and yovoda materialize the breaking-down point. Maafa and yovoda materialize the explosion of the african entity. Africans from here and there, from inside the continent and from outside the continent are but pieces of a world that done been hit by an impact so violent it was left almost entirely destroyed. Yovoda and maafa now condition the near future of the black people since the african world now must imperatively be rebuilt in order to resurrect.
