Like a sun

We all wish to live in a beautiful and prosperous country. We want a glowing country like the sun. So, let us help our country be a model in Africa and for the whole world. But we must make this a reality in our daily actions. Will and organization are essential if this goal we wish to achieve. The executive must show a real will to put the country on the right track.

« Comme un soleil ton drapeau… ». Yes, « like a sun… »; but is the sun conscious of being the sun when being the sun, or is the sun simply itself, fulfilling its destiny by serving all the beings? Is the sun what he is because of his high position, or does the sun have a high position because he is the first of all the servants? Would the sun remain the sun if he ceased to be the sun, meaning if he stopped serving every life? All ears can hear the rain when it pours heavily on the ground. Loud is the voice of the wind that blows. Even earth can roar sometimes. Oddly enough, though the master of the sky and the most luminous of all, the sun never raises his voice. As a symbol of humility, the sun should be our model indeed. It is important for Cameroon and Cameroonians whose flag emblem is the sun to ponder on those questions. If  we so confess to somehow resemble the sun, it is vital for us to understand that solar reality we wish to identify with very well. There must be a meaning to the words we say.

Respect must never be a privilege and respect is not a one-way ticket. Respect does not depend on social status nor wealth nor age. We all, young or old, parents and children, administrators and administered, have an equal right to respect and owe the deepest respect to each other. Respect for each other is a gold rule if we wish for cameroonian family to be more than a mere slogan. Thus, will it really be possible for us « comme un soleil… », « like a sun… ».

One last thing on respect: which between the tree and the seed comes first, knowing that a seed gave life to the tree and a tree also gave life to the seed? …it is a cycle actually where each element in turn is the other. We are both parents and children. Yes, we are the two at the same time. The child we carry in our arms is a parent to come. The parent we see has been a child: in fact, the man or woman who is a parent today will forever remain his or her own parents’ child, right? So, let us always bear that in mind. Let us learn to change the way we look at everyday things and star a-seeing them differently, in a new light, in a new way. Thus shall we regenerate ourselves and be better people.
